183 Starbucks Outlets Connected in 65 Days
One managed guest WiFi platform across every emirate — branded at every outlet, centrally managed, and quietly building a marketing database that passed one million customers.

One Vendor, Every Emirate, No Long Rollout
Most Starbucks outlets in the UAE sit in exactly the places WiFi is hardest to deliver: inside busy shopping malls, beside corporate towers, and on highway service stops. Each of those sites has its own landlord, its own internet supply and its own RF interference from dozens of neighbouring networks.
The brief was specific. A single vendor rather than a chain of subcontractors. A rollout measured in weeks, not quarters. A guest experience that looked and felt like Starbucks at every single outlet, in every emirate. And underneath it, a way to turn a free amenity into a customer database the marketing team actually owned.
- 183 sites across all seven emirates, each with different landlords and internet supply
- Heavy RF interference in malls from dozens of competing private networks
- A consistent branded experience required at every outlet, with no local variation
- One point of accountability for design, hardware, install, support and reporting
One Cloud Platform, 183 Identical Deployments
Every outlet received the same standardised build: a cloud-managed smart gateway acting as router, WLAN controller, PoE switch and authentication gateway in a single unit, paired with dual-band indoor access points sized for café density. Standardising the hardware is what made 65 days possible — each site was a repeat of the last, not a fresh design.
On top of that sat a branded captive portal. Customers connect through a Starbucks-branded splash page using a short registration form or social login, then land on the brand's regional website rather than a blank success screen. Bandwidth minimums and maximums are set per user, along with session limits, so one heavy user never degrades the café.
Every outlet reports into a single cloud dashboard. Configuration changes, portal updates and reporting happen remotely and in real time, across the entire estate, without a site visit.
- Cloud-managed gateway: router, WLAN controller, PoE switch and auth gateway in one
- Dual-band indoor access points, RF-tuned for high-interference mall environments
- Branded captive portal with registration and social login, redirecting to the brand site
- Per-user bandwidth floors, ceilings and session limits
- Single cloud dashboard for all 183 sites, plus 24/7 NOC monitoring

A Free Amenity That Built a Million-Record Database
Guest WiFi now runs at every Starbucks outlet in the UAE, serving more than 200,000 customers a month with an average session of a full hour. Monthly visitors rose 31%, and social media engagement rose 12%.
The quieter result mattered more. Because every connection passes through a branded registration page, the marketing database grew passively — with no campaign, no incentive and no staff involvement — past one million customers, each record carrying name, email, age, gender and stated interests.
- 183 outlets live in 65 days — under one contract, one vendor, one design
- 200,000+ users a month, averaging one hour per session
- +31% monthly customers and +12% social engagement
- 1,000,000+ customer records built passively through the WiFi login
