01 · The Fiber

24 Fiber Ports.
Zero Distance Limits.

The ASW430 sits at the distribution layer — aggregating the uplinks of many access switches across floors and buildings into one high-capacity node. Its 24 GbE SFP ports accept single-mode or multi-mode fiber transceivers, reaching access switches hundreds of meters away without signal degradation or copper distance limits. An additional 8 RJ45 PoE+ ports handle local devices at the IDF or MDF directly.

Connect Floors and Buildings

One ASW430 aggregates 24 access switches from different floors or wings — each on a single fiber run — removing the need for a separate distribution switch per zone.

02 · The Resilience

Dual PSU.
AC + DC Backup.

A distribution switch is a single point of aggregation for many access switches — a power failure here means network failure for an entire floor or building zone. The ASW430 eliminates that risk with dual redundant power supplies: two independent AC inputs and a DC backup input (36-72V) for UPS or battery systems. If one PSU fails or mains power drops, the switch keeps operating without interruption.

No Single Point of Failure

Two AC feeds from separate circuits plus a DC input for battery/UPS backup — the ASW430 keeps aggregating traffic through mains outages and PSU replacements.

03 · The Uplink

4× 10G SFP+
Core Uplinks

Aggregating 24 access-switch uplinks generates significant upstream traffic. The ASW430's four 10G SFP+ ports provide 40 Gbps to the core layer — the correct ratio for a distribution switch handling many access-layer nodes. Bond uplinks via LACP for redundancy and throughput, or distribute them across independent core switches for maximum resilience in multi-path topologies.

Distribution to Core at 10G

Four independent 10G paths prevent the aggregation tier from becoming the bottleneck — feeding the managed core backbone at scale.

L3 Routing
at Distribution

Moving routing intelligence from the core to the distribution layer reduces load on the gateway and cuts latency for inter-VLAN traffic. The ASW430 supports static routing, RIP, and OSPF — keeping floor-to-floor and department-to-department traffic local rather than sending it all the way to the firewall and back. Full 802.1Q VLANs, QoS, ACLs, and SNMP management complete the enterprise feature set, managed 24/7 from the EZELINK GCC NOC.
